My sincere condolences to Paul, Keith, Scott, Marc, and family. Barbara was a kind and compassionate person who deeply loved her family. I am grateful for many special memories of Barbara, raising our children, working and socializing together. Rest in peace, Barbara.

To Paul and family: we were so sorry to learn about Barbara. We have so many great memories of time spent with Barb and your family. Her children and grandchildren were everything to her. I know she will be sorely missed.

Barbara's Obituary

Barbara Irene Rapchak, 86, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born January 30, 1940, Barbara was the daughter of the late Orville and Elsie (Pennepacker) Thierer. She attended Allentown High School, where she studied business and proudly served as a majorette. She later worked as a transcription professional for the District Justice, where she became highly proficient in shorthand. Barbara then went on to work at PPL as an executive secretary for 18 years before retiring in 1996. In 1959, Barbara married the love of her life, Paul Rapchak. Together they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, family and faith. Barbara had a deep devotion to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Whitehall and cherished her church community. She enjoyed attending musicals and plays, and loved exploring house tours and flower tours. Above all else, Barbara loved her family deeply and treasured every moment spent with them.

Barbara is survived by her devoted husband, Paul; her sons, Keith Rapchak (Anita), Scott Rapchak (Tara), and Marc Rapchak (Jill); grandchildren, Paul Rapchak (Ketura), Jessica Yost (Michael), Chad Rapchak (Melissa), Shane Rapchak (Tiana), Kyle Rapchak (Marla), Corey Rapchak, and Dylan Rapchak; and great-grandchildren, Christian and Cole Yost, and Amelia Rapchak. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Dale Thierer. Barbara will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, strong faith, and the deep love she shared with her family and friends. 

Private services are under the direction of Reichel Funeral Home, Northampton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society in Barbara’s memory.  Online condolences may be offered below.
