This obituary is beautifully written. It caught my eye because I have relatives name Davis and relatives name Reed. Donald Reed and his deceased father Elvis of Byers, Texas. Eddie Joe Davis, my cousin, Dennis Davis who married my cousin Ruby Callaway.
Your mother sounds as thought she had a beautiful life and I know she will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Barbara Ann (Davis) Reed of Randlett, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully at her home on December 2, 2025.
Barbara Ann (Davis) Reed was born on December 24, 1941, as the only child of Clyde Wesley Davis and Helen Lorraine “Purk” Davis. Barbara grew up on a farm south of Randlett, Oklahoma. She was a proud graduate of Big Pasture High School in Randlett, class of 1959, and enjoyed the ladies’ luncheons and keeping up with her classmates. She always took pride in that she was part of the first graduating class of the new building at Big Pasture High School.
Shortly after graduating, Barbara married the love of her life, Eddie Lowell “Butch” Reed, on June 6, 1959. To this marriage two daughters, Rebecca Gayle Reed Stubblefield and Tammy Renee Reed Webb, were born. Eddie, Barbara, and their girls took many vacations to Colorado around the Pagosa Springs area. She often spoke of how much she loved those trips. Eddie and Barbara were supporters of girls’ softball in Burkburnett, Texas, for many years. She enjoyed traveling with the team and supporting Eddie as he coached. After Eddie’s passing, Reed’s Field was dedicated in his honor, but time marches on and a few years ago that field was repurposed.
Barbara spent her life serving as a homemaker and working as a secretary for Reed’s Construction. Alongside her husband Eddie, together they built many homes in Burkburnett, Texas over the years. Tragically, Eddie passed away at the young age of 41, leaving Barbara and their girls behind. Barbara was fiercely independent and had an extremely robust work ethic. Following her husband’s death, she continued to run Reed’s Construction for a few more years, eventually moving on to other positions until May of this year when her health began to decline and she had to stop working. Over the years, she worked as a title clerk for Herb Easley, as a legal assistant for the law office of Bruce Martin, as a legal assistant for the law offices of Copeland and Stubblefield, and most recently as a property manager for Field-Da Acquisitions, Inc.
Barbara, affectionately known as “Nana”, enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports and loved every minute of following them from game to game. She was widely known for making her opinions known to the referees. Nana loved each holiday season and went to great lengths to buy special gifts for each person. Barbara was generous and very willing to shop for the grandkids. She loved to spoil each of them.
Most importantly, Barbara was a woman of faith. She obeyed the gospel of Jesus Christ by being baptized into Christ for the remission of her sins. At the time of her baptism, she was added to the church by the Lord (Acts 2:38-47). Throughout her lifetime, she held membership at the Randlett Church of Christ and later at the Burkburnett Church of Christ as well. Barbara began to have a series of health complications in May of this year. Although she fought hard to live, never complaining about the difficulties she faced, her body eventually grew tired and lost the fight.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie “Butch” Reed, and her parents, Clyde Wesley Davis, and Helen Lorraine “Purk” Davis. She is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Gayle Reed Stubblefield and husband Danny Joe Stubblefield of Randlett, Oklahoma, and Tammy Renee Reed Webb and husband Jay Webb of Bowie, Texas. She is also survived by her grandson, Brant Stubblefield and wife Charity Stubblefield of Edmond, Oklahoma; and three granddaughters, Skye Adams and husband, Michael Adams of Devol, Oklahoma, Chancy Renee Skinner and husband Danny Skinner of Randlett, Oklahoma, and Courtney Rachelle Boyd of Wichita Falls, Texas. Barbara is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, William Price Stubblefield, Parker Brant Stubblefield, Preston Reed Stubblefield, and Ella Lorraine Stubblefield, all of Edmond, Oklahoma, Presley Adams Smart and husband Tanner Smart of Randlett, Oklahoma, Rylan Beck Adams, Vance Michael Adams, and Letty Allison Adams, all of Devol, Oklahoma, and Kaden Lane Skinner, Kaydi Grace Skinner, and Kaleb Hartlee Skinner, all of Randlett, Oklahoma; and two great-great grandchildren, Boone Smart and Blakely Smart of Randlett, Oklahoma. Barbara is survived by a host of friends and numerous cousins, including a special cousin, Trill Olver of Randlett, Oklahoma, who she cared about deeply.
The family will receive friends between 6 and 8 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025 at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett. Services for Barbara will be held at 10:00 o’clock, a.m., on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at the Burkburnett Church of Christ with Brother Jamie Beller leading the congregational singing and Brother Brant Stubblefield officiating. Burial will immediately follow at the Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Burkburnett.
