I have so many fond memories of Barb over the years! We always stopped at the Bakery after church for bread, and I loved getting the brownies there; they were the best brownies!! I was always impressed with Barb’s talent for crocheting; I hold dear the blankets she made for my daughters when they were born. Barb took many days trips (Lapeer, Bay City, Port Huron) with my mom and dad, Betty and Ron Fitzko. In the years after my dad passed, Barb would stop by to visit my mother and bring her...

I had the pleasure of working for Barb right out of High School. My Parents Harry & Sally Woodbeck knew her and her parents long before me. My mom worked for her on St.Johns St as well. She was a good person and her Bread was Delicious! She’ll be missed!

Barbara was our business neighbor. Our business is next to Balkan Bakery. She was a dedicated hard working woman. Everybody knew Barbara and loved the breads she made along with her baker, Mr. Bob. We truly missed Barbara when she retired from the bakery.

Barbara was a close family friend. I remember her as a thoughtful and cheerful lady! She was one of my mom's Betty Fitzko's , best friends and they knew each other from elementary school. I remember going to the Balkan Bakery after church as a child, to get my favorite bread and also going on family day trips to Canada and other places with her and our family. I am thankful she was there to visit my mom (when she still drove) and to call my mom every day, especially after my dad passed...

We walked over to Balkan Bakery many times when we lived in Flint. Barbara offered a friendly greeting to customers and we knew she managed a wonderful bakery. We are friends of Barbara’s cousins, Susan and Ken Wiltse and know she was loved, and will be missed.

I'm one of Beverly and John Sajtar's kids. They always spoke lovingly and highly of Barbara. I pray Barbara rests in peace with love.
