Barbara's Obituary

Barbara Anne (Vedrani) Rowe, born September 6, 1946, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 17, 2025.

Barbara was born in Amesbury, Massachusetts, the daughter of Hank and Blanche (Foley) Vedrani. After high school Barbara went to work for Western Electric in Andover MA. She was a “Hello Charley Girl” while she was employed there. She eventually went on to work for Sanders Associates (now BAE Systems) in Nashua NH, where she worked for 33 years, before retiring as an Executive Secretary.  Barbara was previously married to Richard Michalewicz and had two sons; Kevin (1969) and Derrick (1972). 

After 26 years of being single, Barbara met and married Terry Rowe of Merrimack, NH. In her later years of work and in retirement, Barbara and Terry were active volunteers in and around the Merrimack communities. They volunteered as drivers for Meals on Wheels in Merrimack, drivers for disabled and elderly for Caregivers in Bedford and Nashua, NH and also volunteered at the Caring Cupboard program in Bedford, NH, taking orders, packing and delivering food to those in need. Barbara and Terry were Selected as Outstanding Caregivers of the Year for Greater Nashua in 2014.

Barbara and Terry were also very fortunate to travel extensively, visiting more than 75 countries around the world. Winters were spent in the Caribbean, Hawaii, and South Pacific, and summers were spent traveling in Europe and Asia.

Barbara was preceded in death by her sister Patricia Augusta Dore of Reading PA, her brother-in-law George “Skip” Willis of Glastonbury, CT, and sister-in-law Pam Shea of Amesbury, MA.

She is survived by husband Terry, Sons Kevin Michalewicz and wife Inga of Merrimack NH, and Derrick Vedrani and wife Kendra of Litchfield, NH, grandsons Jake and Brett Michalewicz, and Harrison and Carter Vedrani, stepson Michael Rowe of Merrimack, NH, stepdaughter Wendy Rowe and step granddaughters Hanna and Abby Overholt of North Hampton NH. She is also survived by sister Mary Lynne Willis of Glastonbury, CT, brothers H. Michael Jr. Vedrani and Timothy John Vedrani and Nannette Poirier of Amesbury MA, sister Michele Bridget Goodrich of Amesbury MA, along with many nephews and nieces.

Memorial calling hours will be held in the Rivet Funeral Home & Crematorium, 425 Daniel Webster Hwy, Merrimack, NH on Friday Oct. 24, 2025 from 2-3 PM. A service will be held in the funeral home at 3 PM.
