Barbara Jo Sougstad

My deepest sympathy and prayers for the entire family. Barb was kindest soul I ever met. We didn’t talk often but I always enjoyed our chats when we did get together. The Sougstad’s were wonderful neighbors. Many blessings to the family.

A bright light with so much intelligence and compassion. I only knew her for a couple of years -- our love for horses brought us together -- but she left an indelible mark. She collected my paintings and poured out validation like water. This is a great loss to me and so many others. My deepest condolences to all who love her.

I cherish my memories of our many horse riding adventures. Barb was brave and funny on our various rides. I especially loved our trip to Utah and the many scary but fun rides into the red rock mountains and plains. I believe that Barb and I grew up a lot on this trip, both in our horsemanship and spirituality.
Even though we have grown apart I feel the loss of her presence in my life.

I'm not going to lie, the news of Barb''s tragic death has rocked me to my core. The Soustads were our neighbors in the late 90s and we shared a love of horses, along with a bond that I will always cherish. She was a special soul, whose kindness and beautiful spirit touched so many. We had lost contact in recent years, but I will never forget her piercing blue eyes, beautiful smile, and gentle nature. Rest in peace, dear friend. The world was blessed to have you!
