I am very sorry to hear of Barbara's passing. We worked together at Days Inn and I loved her sense of humor. My condolences to the family.

Barbara's Obituary

Barbara Philomena Gower Wakin, age 84, of Middlesboro, KY, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2019, peacefully at her home.  She was born in Auburn, NY on October 22, 1934, the daughter of the late Leonard and Philomena Gower.    

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Wakin and seven siblings.

She is survived by her brother, Richard Gower of Florida; Children, Joe Wakin, Debbie (Michael) Leach, Mark (Teresa) Wakin, Tom (Deloris) Wakin, Lisa Wakin Hunley and Monica (Terry) Poore; many nieces and nephews; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at St. Julian’s Catholic Church in Middlesboro, KY.  The funeral mass will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m., with Father Mark Ouma presiding.  Interment will be private.
