Not sure what to say?

My beautiful cousin, you will be forever missed. Heaven truly gained a angel.

My deepest sympathy for your family as you navigate a new world without your loved one. Barbra is watching over you!

Thoughts & prayers!

My sincere condolences to the Moore family. I will miss her beyond words. Such a caring & classy lady! Happy Heavenly Reunion! RIP, finally! Spread your beautiful wings and fly! ❤✝

I went to school with Barbra, living next door!
She was a awesome basketball player and I saw every one of her games (since I was a cheerleader ) Her smile and vitality will sure be missed! I keep her family and her friends in my blessings

Barbara was such a fun person to be around! She was funny, strong, kind and generous. I know she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

We were the Aldridge girls that lived next-door to the Moore‘s on Springdale Road! I was the baby of the family. I can remember I was in the first grade and I think Barbara was in the 11th grade . My sisters did not ride the bus so , Every day that I got on the bus, Barbara was the one I would sit beside- she was my own personal bodyguard and friend!!! I love her and I will miss her ❣

Sending heartfelt love, hugs and prayers for comfort to all the family.

Barbra's Obituary

Funeral services for Barbra Ellen Halstead, 70, will be held Friday morning, May 2, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. in the Harvey-Douglas Centennial Chapel with Reverend Bruce Kirby officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery with the assistance of Brandon Bush, Eric Thompson, Michael Morrison, Pryce Holley, Greg Keith and Isaac Ramirez.

The daughter of the late Rex Cullen and Betty Jean Potts Moore, Barbra was born November 13, 1954 in Odessa, Texas and went to her heavenly home on April 28, 2025.

Barbra was a caregiver in every sense of the word. She gave of herself without hesitation, always putting the needs of others before her own. Whether it was family, friends, or even animals; Barbra cared deeply and loved fiercely. She was the steady hand, the listening ear, the guiding heart. She was the glue that held her family together, and her presence was a comfort that could be felt even in silence.

Her legacy lives on most vividly in the strength and independence of her daughters, CJ, Lindsay, and Jennifer; a reflection of the values she instilled and the love she so freely gave. Barbra was always driven to ensure her family had more; more love, more opportunity, more peace, than she ever asked for herself. And by every measure, she succeeded.

Barbra built an exceptional career in the grocery industry, leaving a lasting impression in every role she held; from health and beauty aides to produce and meat buying. Her dedication, strong work ethic, and unwavering integrity earned her the respect and admiration of everyone she worked with.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, John, her daughters CJ, Lindsay, and Jennifer, her sons-in-law Brandon and Eric Zane, and her beloved grandchildren, Elyse, Gentry, and Jameson, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.  She is also survived by her sisters, Carole Lindsey and Kathy Manning and her husband Michael and her brother Rex Moore.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Betty Moore and her sister Laura Jean Hillman.

Barbra’s love extended to all living things. She was a lifelong lover of animals, someone who found deep peace in nature and quiet reflection by the water. The outdoors wasn’t just a place for her, it was where she felt most like herself.

Services are entrusted to Harvey-Douglas Funeral Home and Crematory where online condolences for the family may be left at www.hdouglasfuneralhome.com.
