Obituary

Malchus "Don"'s Obituary

Funeral services celebrating the life of Malchus Rhudon “Don” Eaves will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 21, 2016, in the Chapel of Hixson Brothers, Pineville, with Reverend Tim Hisaw officiating. Burial will follow in Tioga Cemetery.

 

Visitation will be observed at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 20, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and resume on Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until time of service.

 

Pallbearers honored to serve include Scott Yancey, Patrick Yancey, Scott O’Neal, T. J. Pharris, Charlie Arrington and J. D. Cotton.

 

Malchus Rhudon “Don” Eaves, 87, of Bentley, passed from this life on Monday, January 18, 2016, at his residence.

 

Don proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict in Combat. He was a Mason with Anchor Lodge #261, F & AM, Pollock and Order of Eastern Star, Golden Star Chapter #73, Pollock. He was also a member and deacon of Tioga First Baptist Church.

 

Don received his B A from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches and went on to obtain his Masters +30 degree from the Universities of Indiana and Arkansas. He taught at high schools in Mississippi and Louisiana, taught at the Trade School in Winnsboro for 2 years and was a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Louisiana.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lamourie “Todd” Eaves and his parents, Cecil Leonard Eaves and Louella Burkes Eaves.

 

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Janis Lamourie Eaves; nephews, Patric Yancey, Scott Yancey and Patrick Yancey; nieces, Kim Brantley, Patricia Brewer, Isabella Yancey and Natosha Yancey; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Weyman and Shirley Brantley and a host of other family members and friends.
