Not sure what to say?

I didn't personally know Mr. Weaver but he always spoke when he walked past my house on Elm St. He was so kind and always had a smile on his face. I miss seeing him and Mrs. Mary Ruth. To Mr. Weaver family, I am so sorry for your loss

I work with Ben at Mead Johnson many years ago. He was a good guy and he will be missed by many.

My condolences to Ben’s family, friends and loved ones. I knew Ben from working years ago at Mead Johnson and what an upstanding man he was. Ben always had a smile on his face, a laugh to share or a kind word to say. May God comfort and give you peace during this time.

So sad to hear of Ben’s death.
No words can take away the heartache you are feeling. Prayers for God’s peace and grace to be with each of you.

Mark, we are so sorry for your loss. Our deepest condolences. May God embrace you and yours during this time.

BENJAMIN's Obituary

Benjamin F. Weaver III, 93, of Henderson, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Evansville after complications from a fall.

Ben was born on July 5, 1932, and grew up in Palmyra, Tennessee.  His childhood during the Great Depression was impoverished, but through it he acquired the grit and integrity that were to characterize him throughout his life.  After high school, he played basketball at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, and then joined the U.S. Navy, serving overseas during the Korean War.  Prior to his naval service, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary Ruth Weaver (Seals).  She was the love of his life, and they each served as the anchor for the other over seventy-two blessed years of time together.  They settled in Henderson and attended First Methodist Church and Bennett Memorial Church in Henderson; Ben was active in the United Methodist Men fellowship.  He worked a variety of jobs and retired in 1990 from Mead Johnson after a few decades there.  After retirement, he and Mary Ruth were able to travel extensively and spent most winters in Florida.  Ben was an extremely gifted athlete, playing competitive basketball and softball well into his forties; he also bowled and was a superlative golfer.  Despite not beginning golf until his mid-thirties, he was still able to shoot eighty when he was ninety years of age, evidencing a remarkable natural ability.

Ben was a loving father to his children – Kathryn, Mark, and David.  They will always remember and miss his towering presence, his classic parenting advice (“any job worth doing is worth doing well”), and, most importantly, his providing a role model by living as a hard-working, honest, and charitable husband and father.  He was also able to be very involved with the lives of his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents and by his beloved sister, Sally Weaver.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ruth; daughter, Kathryn Weaver; son, Mark Weaver; son, David (Allison) Weaver; grandchildren, Matthew Mills, Jesse Weaver, Warren Weaver (Emily Chaney), Ashley Weaver, Evelyn (Chris) Brake, Sarah Weaver, and Benjamin Weaver; as well as his five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Monday, August 11, 2025, at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home.  Heath Farmer will officiate.  Burial will be in Fernwood Cemetery with full military rites performed by American Legion Worsham Post No. 40 Honor Guard Burial Detail.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made Henderson County Public Library, 101 South Main Street, Henderson, Kentucky 42420, or American Legion Honor Guard Burial Detail, 8721 Old U.S. 60, Spottsville, Kentucky 42458.
