Obituary
Bernard's Obituary
Mr. Bernard Clinton Cross, age 67 of Oneida, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at his home. Born June 24, 1946, he was the son of the late Ledford and Helen Marcum Cross. Bernard worked for Plateau Electric for 38 years, was a United States Army Veteran, and a member of the DAV, American Legion, the VFW, and the First Baptist Church of Oneida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Katrina Cross; grandson: Preston Miller; sister: Henrietta Cross; and father and mother-in-law: Harold and Fanny Thompson; brother-in-law: Bob Daniel.
He is survived by his wife: Linda Thompson Cross; son: Rick Cross and wife Kendra; Heather Cross Anderson and husband Michael, Richie, Katie, Annie, grandchildren: James and Rosie Anderson; daughter: Elise Miller and husband Richard; Tommy, Chyanne, Danica; son: Anthony Cross and wife Misty, Kyra Cross, Heaven Smithers, Christian and Faith Cross; grandson Ransom Dyson; sisters and brothers-in-law Brenda and Gary Chitwood of Winfield, Raymond and Loretta Thompson of Oneida, Curtis Thompson of Oneida, Sheila and Joe Strunk of Knoxville, and Carolyn Daniel of Oneida; special friend: Wayne Posey; special cousins: Gary Cross, Barbara Watts, Betty O’Hara and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with the Cross family on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Oneida from 5 p.m. until time of funeral services at 8 p.m. with Dr. Doug White and Bro. Dale Smith officiating. Music will be provided by Allen Martin.
Mr. Cross will be laid to rest on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the Smith-Forbis Cemetery. Full military honors will be provided by American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
West-Murley Funeral Home of Oneida is serving the family of Mr. Bernard Clinton Cross.
