Wish we could have been there today to share some Bernie stories. How he teased Grandma Mounts down at the lake. He was the only one who could get away with it. Great guy...heart of gold!

so sorry to hear of Bernie's passing. I still have the two wooden boxes he made for me when they were living in Hurricane. Condolences to the family, especially Jean. They had a true enduring marriage.

Bernard's Obituary

Bernard Dallinga passed away July 24, 2021, from cancer. He was born in Riley, Kansas to Frank and Iona Dallinga. He grew up on the family farm until the depression and then the family moved to Manhattan, Kansas.

Bernard served in the Navy from November 24, 1944, to August 1, 1946. He was a signalman, third class. While on leave from the Navy he married Alma Jean Mounts April 6, 1946, in Junction, Kansas. They recently celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary on April 6, 2021.

Bernard was a long-haul truck drive, traveling over many, many miles of highway. For a few years after he retired, he drove truck for another company – Jean was able to join him as his partner. Bernard and Jean always enjoyed traveling the country together visiting family and friends

Bernard is survived by his wife, Jean, Children – Linda Ungermann, Ron (Shannon), Vicki (Tom) Shipley, Gail Miller (Orson West), Sandi (Mark) Lyon. 17 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frand and Iona Dallinga, His sisters Inez (Irvin) Hirsch, Frances (Jay) Smith, Lola (Otto) Heller and son-in-Law Dennis Miller

A viewing will be held Monday, August 2, 2021, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Broomhead Funeral home 12600 South 2200 West, Riverton, Utah. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 P.M. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah.

The family would like to thank the Copperview 10th Branch, The Lodge at Riverton Assisted Living and Elevation Hospice for the many, many hours of service and love shown to our dad.
