Bernard E. Smith, Jr., born September 20, 1971, in Watertown, NY, passed away at Samaritan Medical Center on Wednesday, February 25th.
He was the son of Bernard E. Smith and LouAnn Marino Smith. Bernard was employed as a laborer at Walmart and had previously dedicated 20 years of service to Hang Up Put Down Shoppe. He was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family.
Bernard enjoyed spending time fishing, watching NASCAR races, taking long drives, and listening to music. He found simple joy in life’s quiet moments, and treasured time spent with those he loved.
He is survived by his mother, LouAnn Smith of Watertown; his sisters, Darline Earl of Watertown and Kathy (Robert) Bertrand of Watertown; his brother, Michael (April McConnell) Smith of Watertown; his daughter, Alicea Smith; four beloved grandchildren, Bristol, Piper, Bryson, and Layne; his companion, Karen Derouin; and his stepson, Xavier and several nieces and nephew He was predeceased by his father, Bernard E. Smith, Sr.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 5, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown, with a memorial service to follow at 2:00 p.m. Spring burial will take place at North Watertown Cemetery.
