Mrs Henry (Betty) was a second mother to me. I was always welcomed with loving arms and a smile that warmed my heart. Her spirit and loving generosity was something I will treasure always. I'll miss her more than I can say. My heart and soul are fuller having had her in my life. And she gave me a friendship with her daughter that is invaluable to me. Thank you for loving me, Mrs. Henry. (And yes, I know she begged me for years to call her Betty... but I never could.)
Love you,...

Mrs Henry was a model mother and parent. She always had a kind word and a great smile. I grew up with her children, mostly Debbie and John. Jerry and Terry were a little older than I was but I knew them as well, and Mrs Henry's first husband Ed, I worked with at Kinney Drugs in Adams. My she rest in peace and be with Ed and Terry for eternity. You be missed. My heart goes out to Jerry, Debbie, John and all their family. May the many memories you have, help you through this time of need.

I remember her fondly as a talented seamstress. She taught our young 4H members to sew for a while. She was the gracious and kind Mom of my friends Terry, Jerry and Debbie, and later John, and was always so nice to me and all the kids.

Debbie and Family, Sorry to hear about your mother. Her pain and suffering is over. It was a joy to have her come to the beauty shop. We always had a good laugh or two. I will miss seeing her. RIP Betty.

Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Henry June 12, 1933 – July 21, 2025
Betty Ann Henry, 92, passed away peacefully marked by devotion, kindness, and quiet strength.
Born on June 12, 1933, to Ted and Alice (Rutledge) Loson, Betty was raised in the small community of Watson, NY where she attended the “Little Red School House” before attending Lowville Academy. As a young girl, Betty was volunteered as a plane spotter during WW II. In November 1951, Betty married Airman Edward D. Henry. Their life together took them across the country—first to Bangor, Maine, then to Biloxi, Mississippi, and then to Sioux City, Iowa,- before they returned to Northern New York to plant roots and raise their family. For over two decades, they made their home in Adams, NY, where Betty was a devoted parishioner at St. Cecilia's Parish and a quiet pillar of support to the sisters who served there. She also stood faithfully beside Ed as he managed Kinney Drugs, while carving out her own entrepreneurial path. Betty owned and distributed Dr. Hale’s Ointment and Kenyon and Thomas Medicinal Tea, blending her care for others with traditional remedies.
In 1967, Ed and Betty built a cottage in White's Bay, Henderson, NY—her most cherished place on earth. It was there that Betty found peace, joy, and deep connection. She spent countless summers watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren create lifelong memories by the water, and it was there that she built treasured, lifelong friendships that enriched her days.
In 1979, Ed and Betty relocated to Cortland, NY, where she would become a beloved presence in the elementary school cafeteria. For 18 years, Betty worked as a “lunch lady” at Barry Elementary School, where her warm smile, gentle spirit, and caring presence served students and staff.
In her retirement, Betty spent many joyful winters in Haines City, Florida, enjoying a community of fellow snowbirds and friends. These years were filled with laughter, events at the clubhouse, and a sense of ease that she deeply treasured.
In 2022, Betty returned to the North Country full-time and made her home at The Lodge at Ives Hill in Watertown, NY. The family is forever grateful for the compassionate care, kindness, and community provided by the staff and residents at The Lodge, who embraced Betty and supported her family with love during her final chapter.
Betty is survived by her daughter Debbie (Bob) Williams and two sons, Jerry (Lucille) Henry and John (Tammy) Henry. She was the proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren: Andrea (Kelly) Lomber, Tony (Courtney) Williams, Matt (Jennifer) Friel, Matt Henry, Josh (Andrea) Henry, Jeromy (Tiffany) Henry, Jordan (Mallory) Henry, Krystal (Justin) Williams, Preston Henry, Jennifer (Stephen) Phelps, and Paige (Ryan) Loyd, as well as seventeen great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Edward D. Henry, her second husband, John D. Bellmore, her son, Terry D. Henry, and two sisters, Bonnie Wilson and Rosemary Creech.
Betty will be remembered for her unwavering support of family and faith, her industrious and nurturing spirit, and the love and joy she brought to everyone she met. Her legacy of warmth and resilience will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
