Beverly Elaine Bivens Brown, age 78 was born on December 9, 1946, in New Orleans, LA departed this earthly home on Wednesday, April 2, 2025.Beverly attended Orleans Parish Schools, graduated from Dillard University with a Bachelor in Elementary Education and received a Master's in North Carolina. She retired after 40 years of teaching elementary students in 2012. Beverly was a silver member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She was also a member of St. Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church until moving to North Carolina where she attended St. Ann Catholic Church and was affiliated with the St. Ann's Ladies Guild and a lecture for St. Ann's Catholic Church. Beverly was the loving sister of Sandra Jupiter, Deborah Bivens, Frank James Bivens, Jr. and Wanda Bowman to cherish her memories. She is also remembered by a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, family and friends. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 55 1/2 years John E. Brown; and her parents Frank James Bivens, Sr. and Ella Ophelia Bivens. Relatives and friends of the family, also Priest and parishioners of St. Phillip the Apostle Catholic Church and St. Ann Catholic Church (North Carolina), members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and St. Ann's Ladies Guild are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Gertrude Geddes Willis Funeral Home, 2120 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70113 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Interment Lakelawn Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, LA 70124.
