Beverly Mae Edwards

Beverly Mae Edwards entered eternal rest on February 13, 2026, at the age of 79. 

For more than 38 years, she shared a devoted and loving partnership with Patrick Chaplain. 

Beverly leaves to cherish her memory her loving partner, Patrick Chaplain; her sister, Carolyn Freeman; her children: Geralita Fox, Cheryl Steptoe, June Maria Butler, and George Butler; seven grandchildren: Mahogany Butler, Maurice Fox Jr., Ivan Bailey, George Butler IV, Brandon Butler, Melvin Butler, and Delvin Butler, along with one son-in-law, Maurice Fox Sr.; eighteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.

 She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Davenport; her mother, Beatrice Steptoe; Alvin and Joyce Davenport; Delores and Edward White; Kenneth White; and Edward Davenport. Beverly’s life was a reflection of service, faith, dignity, and love. She lived fully, loved deeply, and left an enduring legacy in the hearts of all who knew her. 

 Family and friends are invited to attend a Homegoing Celebration on Saturday, February 28, 2026, for 10:00 a.m. at the Marine & Mt. Moriah Church, 3024 Andover St. Jefferson, LA 70121. Reverand Kevlin White Sr. officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park & Mausoleum, 8200 Airline Dr. Metairie, LA 70003.
