Beverly J. Klitgaard

In loving memory, the family of Beverly Klitgaard announces her passing on March 10, 2013 after a long bout with ovarian cancer.Born in Bennet, Nebraska, she came to California in her early teens. She graduated from Napa High School and following high school entered the United States Navy, serving from 1951 to 1954. While serving in Peal Harbor, she met and married Guy Klitgaard. She attended San Mateo Junior College, earning a cosmetology degree, raised three children (Sven, Katy and Mary) and worked for the San Jose Metropolitan Adult Education program. The family moved to Shingletown, California in 1994, where she enjoyed mountain biking, gardening and other outdoor activities. She always had a smile for everyone, usually put the needs of others before hers and was the beloved companion of her husband for 60 years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her favorite charities were the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Boys Town and the Good News Rescue Mission. She will be interred at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo, California at 12:30 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013. Following military honors, there will be a short farewell at the Igo Community Church. Arrangements handled through Allen & Dahl Funeral Chapel in Palo Cedro (547-4444).
