So sorry to hear about Bev’s passing. I worked with her at ASCS and we remained friends for over the years. She had a long life and I enjoyed her friendship, keeping up with her 2 daughters, the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Beverly O. Phelps, 91, Rutland, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at Samaritan Keep Home.
Calling hours will be Friday, January 2, 2026 from 1PM to 3PM with Funeral Service starting at 3PM with Reverend Larry Duthie.
Beverly is survived by her two daughters; Lucinda (Joseph) Riches, LaFargeville and Janice Phelps, Watertown; her grandchildren, Desire’ Finn, Joellen Trainham, Jason Riches, Alex Clement and Kayle Orum; 12 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and one sister, Judy Young. She was pre-deceased by her parents, siblings and 1 great grandchild.
Beverly was born August 19, 1934, a daughter to Thomas and Anna Laura (Steele) Oberton in Bellville. She attended school in Adams and graduated from Watertown High School. She was employed by Watertown National Bank, ASCS Office, Seaway National Bank and Watertown Savings Bank.
Beverly was a member of the Rutland Congregational Church and a choir member for many years. She was a life-time member of the Rutland Volunteer Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary where she was the treasurer for many years.
Beverly enjoyed gardening, line dancing and sewing.
