Not sure what to say?

I always liked Billie. She was fun to be around. I loved when she played the organ and Jean Woodruff played the piano together.
My condolences to the family.

Billie's Obituary

Billie Sue Nickle Coffin, 89, passed away quietly at home on September 30, 2025.She was born on July 1, 1936, in Springfield, Missouri, to James William and Susie Leona Cox Nickle. She grew up surrounded by the woods of the Ozarks, where she developed a deep appreciation for nature and family.

After graduating from high school, Billie Sue moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, where she met her lifelong soul mate, Charles Eugene Coffin. They were married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on September 17, 1954, and together they raised seven children in the Salt Lake Valley.

A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Billie Sue served faithfully in many capacities. She was President of the Women’s MIA, directed both children’s and adult choirs, and led the adult choir to win several local competitions. Later, she became her ward’s organist and served as Relief Society President. Her life was a testament to service, leadership, and faith.

Music was her lifelong passion and gift. With a remarkable ear, she could hear a tune and sit down at the piano to play it beautifully. Her love of music enriched the lives of her family, church, and community.

Billie Sue was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers, two sisters, and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her two sisters, Asenath and Sonja; her seven children, Jeannie, Jim (Lorie) Coffin, Jan (Dave) Demas, Mike (Jennifer) Coffin, Melanie (Bill) Ventura, Chris (Amy) Coffin, and Tonya (Gary) Giancola; 23 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Intermountain Health Home Services, especially hospice caregivers Ben, Eliza, Sheila, and Mei, for their compassionate care and support in her final days.

Her legacy of faith, music, and love will continue to bless the generations that follow her.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Broomhead Funeral Home, 12600 South 2200 West, Riverton, Utah 84065. A viewing will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m.
