Billy "Bill"'s Obituary

Mr. Billy Ray “Bill” Lawson, 74, husband of Pamela Hardee Lawson, of Mullins, gained his new body, free of hurt, during the early morning of Wednesday, March 18, 2026, with his family by his side at his home, following a lengthy period of declining health.

Bill, a loving husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather, was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia on April 10, 1951, a son of the late Ray Virgil Lawson and the late Evelyn Norine Casiday Lawson. Bill was a retired Heating and Air Tech and had served his Country through the National Guard of Virgina. Bill had many loves in his life, first and foremost was his wife and family, who Bill loved to spend time with. Other loves of Bill included carpentry work, he was good with his hands and tools and could build just about anything you could imagine. Working in his yard was in his top three favorites. He loved cutting grass and making sure his yard was well groomed, he took major pride in this, which led to his other pastimes of sitting in his chair under the shade tree admiring his work and sharing quite times with his family, friends and his dogs. Bill will be missed deeply by all whose life he touched.

Surviving Bill in addition to his wife of thirty-four years and of the home, Pamela Hardee Lawson, are: his two sons, Scott Lawson and Travis Lawson; his stepdaughter, Kimberly Odom (Chance Bryant), grandson, Conner (Cora) Odom; great grandson, Carter Bryan Odom; his sister, Nancy Faye Lawson of Elkton, VA; along with other family members and close friends.

Bill was predeceased by his two sisters, Betty Berry and Carol Dean.

A private family graveside will be held this Friday in Calvary Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Nichols, with the Reverend Steve Powell officiating, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home.

A “Special Remembrance” for the love and care that Kim gave to Bill “Pops,” during his illness.

A guestbook is available on our website at Cox-Collins Funeral Home and our Facebook is open for kind words to be left for the family during this difficult time.
