Bobbie's Obituary

Bobbie Jean Kraft, 81, passed away peacefully in Wichita Falls on September 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Bobbie was born on May 26, 1944, to Robert and Mary Spring in Biloxi, Mississippi. Her early years took her from Biloxi to the newly activated Sheppard Air Force Base, and later to Lawrence Road, then considered ‘the edge of town.’

She attended Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School and Barwise Junior High, graduating with the Wichita Falls High School Class of 1962. That same year, in October, she married the love of her life, James Kraft — a handsome wheat farmer-turned-airman.

Together, they built a joyful life, setting down temporary roots at Air Force bases including Dyess, Whiteman, Minot, and Ellsworth. After more than 20 years of military life, they returned to settle in Wichita Falls. One of the many highlights of Bobbie’s life as an Air Force spouse was her involvement in forming the Vietnam Wives’ Club in Wichita Falls, which provided mutual support for the loved ones of those deployed in the war.

Their love brought four children into the world — Andy Kraft (Lynn) of Plano, Lisa Johnson (Al) of Vernon, Laura Bollinger (+Rob) of Wichita Falls, and Brandon Kraft (Vanessa) of Austin. Bobbie’s life centered around her children, her 16 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Nothing delighted her more than sharing stories of their latest accomplishments — to know Bobbie was to hear about the fantastic things her brood was doing. She enjoyed spending time with her sisters, Mary Carr and Debbie Glasgow of Wichita Falls, and her many nieces and nephews, especially many lunches filled with laughter.

Bobbie was a devoted member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served with the Altar Society, prepared meals for the bereavement ministry, learned the art of rosary-making in the Rosary Club, and enjoyed fellowship with many friends in the Jubilee Club.

In her passing, she was reunited with her husband, James; her parents, Robert and Mary Spring; her brother, Rob; her son-in-law, Rob; her granddaughter, Rebecca; and many beloved friends.

A Rosary and Vigil service will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by a visitation until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2025 in the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.  The funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Bartho Nanduri, celebrant.  Rite of Committal will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home in Wichita Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, (howf.org) whose compassionate care blessed Bobbie and her family in the twilight of her earthly life.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.owensandbrumley.com
