This news hits in the gut. My condolences to you all. I managed the house Brad lived in for most of the year, and he will be missed. Brad and I would just talk and talk and it'd make both of us late or tired. Brad has a great soul and I pray now that it's peaceful.

Brad T. Ankenbauer, 43, of Epworth, Iowa, passed away on October 28, 2024, in Davenport, Iowa.
Visitation for Brad will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Epworth where a prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Michael Schueller presiding.
Brad was born May 31, 1981, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Kenneth and Joan (Kramer) Ankenbauer. He attended Western Dubuque High School and was a Welder with Farm Tek in Dyersville, Iowa and most recently with Alter Metals in Davenport.
Brad will be remembered as quiet, loving, and quick-witted. He was an avid fan of the Cubs and Hawkeyes and enjoyed visiting with family and friends while watching games and playing cards. Brad cherished time with his sons and made many memories with them while fishing and boating on Clear Lake.
He is survived by Claudia (Ramirez) Ankenbauer of Arizona; his two children, Thomas and Andrew Ankenbauer; his mother, Joan Ankenbauer of Epworth; two siblings, Dan Ankenbauer (and fiancé, Libbey) of Clear Lake and Andra (Scott) Borgerding of Peosta; three nieces, Kinzly Ankenbauer, Jordan Patton, and Aspen Patton; aunts and uncles, Jerry McDonald of Des Moines, Marilyn Strief of Farley, Tom (Nancy) Kramer of Epworth, Lois (Randy) Bries of Quasqueton, and Dave Cris of Des Moines; and numerous cousins.
Those left to carry on Brad’s memory pray he has now found peace.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Ankenbauer; paternal grandparents, Douglas and Cleo (Lehrkamp) Ankenbauer; maternal grandparents, Edwin and Dola (Leib) Kramer; two aunts, Deb McDonald and Tina Crise; one uncle, Larry Strief.
