Brenda Bruce

Brenda Bruce, age 84, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, passed away peacefully at home on November 1, 2025, surrounded by family. Born July 30, 1941, to the late Alexander and Alma Hayward Bruce, she was preceded in death by her brother Norman Bruce.

Brenda lived with strength and love, devoted to her family. She is survived by her brother Augusta Hayward (Jacqueline); nephews Norman Jr., Kerry, Kenneth Bruce, and Louis Marshall; nieces Nyoki Johnson Bruce and La’ Cher Marshall-Watson; great-nephew Michael Marshall; great-nieces Marche’ Walter and Karleigh Watson; cousin Tammy; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Dennis Funeral Home, 1812 Louisiana Ave., New Orleans, LA. Interment: Holt Cemetery New Orleans, LA.
