Not sure what to say?

Great mentor and friend. That says it all.
My condolences to jan.

I would simply reiterate my earlier comments: that Brian Berry shaped my professional life and academic career more than any single person. Without his input, as doctoral supervisor, colleague and friend, I would not be where I am. He was a lovely, brilliant and generous man! Thank you Brian.
In addition he is the reason that I met and married my wife Paula - we have been together for 57 years. Thanks again Brian!
Rest in peace..

Great scholar and mentor

Waiting for the announcement of the celebration of his life. Will send a tribute

A great mentor.

Brian berry was my "accidental" mentor at Chicago where I spent 18 months as a fellow from the Harvard- mit joint center. A task- master, a great scholar, and besides all else, a great teacher.
The time I spent under his tutledge was the best of my academic life.
Jan, I will always remember your hospitality.

Dr. Berry was an inspiring professor and a true giant in the field of geography. His mentorship, brilliance, and kindness had a lasting impact on my studies and career. I was especially lucky to have been his teaching assistant and to have done field work for him to map the Parish of Hastingleigh. My deepest condolences to his loved ones.

A brilliant man! What a difference he made in so many lives. I was privileged to work with him at UTD. With deepest sympathy to his family. Sincerely, Tricia Barnett Monfrey
