Brian Douglas “Doug” Walker, age 80, of Findley Lake, NY, passed away on Tuesday March 12, 2024.
Doug was born on July 24, 1943. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morse and Louise Walker and a sister, Sally Loring.
He is survived by his three children, Troy (Rebecca) Walker, Kirstin (William) Walker, and Benny Walker; a sister, Cynthia (Gerry) Minton; five grandchildren, Caroline (Austin) VanDuzer, Erin Habas, Drew Himelein, Evan Himelein and Dylann Walker; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Doug graduated from Clymer Central School, served in the US Navy and graduated from Broward Community College. He worked at Maplevale Farms for many years as a salesman and after retirement spent much time in Florida.
Doug loved planting blue spruce, traveling the world, going to Buffet or Petty concerts with Mama Bear, and was an avid collector of coins, wooden handle monkey wrenches and of course golf balls.
Doug was our proud captain of the first (and last) houseboat, “Never Say Never” on Findley Lake. He also founded the Findley Lake Yacht Club in 1992.
A Celebration of Life will take place this summer. Doug will forever be remembered for his free spirit and wild antics. Gotta Regatta!
