I'm gonna miss you Grandpa Brooks. When we come together again, we going fishing.

The best father in the world. We had so many fun times, especially on the trips to see grandma in Melfa. Most of all dad, your legacy will live on through me and my kids whose hearts you touched deeply. Dad I asked that you continue to guide us from your heavenly mansion..I love you and you will always stay in my heart. Pop pop we are gonna miss all the visits to Jersey to see you and spending the nights, driving you crazy and enjoying quality time with you, especially the good meals you...

U are now in a better place unk, no more pain, or worries.. My favorite memory of you is whenever I see me u never call my birth name, but fairly ur favorite nickname givin to me by u,"HIPS", lol.. Rest peacefully unk love you man!!!

Uncle Brooks will be greatly missed. He was a special person and my favorite uncle. I send my family love and my prayers. God took a gentle soul.

Brooks's Obituary

Brooks O. Sample Jr., 74, of Browns Mills passed away peacefully on November 4, 2015 at Samaritan Healthcare and Hospice in Mt. Holly, NJ. He was born in Melfa, VA to the late Adell and Brooks Sample Sr., where he spent his early years before moving to New Jersey in 1965. Upon arrival, Brooks found employment with Vernon Dancer Stables where he worked with the race horses. He was a hard worker who loved to spend his down time fishing, cooking and being outdoors. Brooks enjoyed going to the race track, fixing cars, working with the horses and was an avid baseball fan. He was a loving father, brother and uncle who will be deeply missed. Brooks is predeceased by his parents and many siblings. He leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters; Lt. Col. Sheila White, Upper Marlboro MD, Monica Chestnut, Pottstown PA, Nia Wright-Berry, (Benjamin), Newport, DE; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, sister Aurelia L. Weal, Browns Mills, NJ, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and loved ones. Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 10AM to 11AM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533 (TilghmanFH.com). A funeral service will begin at 11AM. Interment will follow at the Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Brooks' memory to Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton NJ 08053.
