Bruce grew up on 7th Street, a few houses down from my family. He and my brother were buddies. Great family! Great memories. Praying for the family.

Bruce's Obituary

Bruce Alwin Corley, 69, of Taylor, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at his home on February 24, 2026.

He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on January 1, 1957, to Al and Chris (Mason) Corley. He graduated from Springhill High School in 1975. After graduation, Bruce joined the United States Navy. Afterwards, he attended Northeast Louisiana University now ULM in Monroe, Louisiana, where he received a B.A. degree in broadcasting. While at the university, Bruce joined the Louisiana Army National Guard. He graduated from Officer Training School as a second lieutenant in 1982. That same year, he married his wife of 43 years, Sandra Sherman, whom he affectionately called “Miss Dell.”

Bruce served as a deputy sheriff in Webster Parish. After retiring, he farmed the family homestead in Taylor. 

Bruce was an active member of Forest Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed gunsmithing, gardening, Civil War reenacting, watching football games and old movies. Bruce loved sharing funny stories with his family and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife and his son, Brooks Corley.

A memorial service will be held at Forest Grove Missionary Baptist Church on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.  Services are under the direction of A O Smith Funeral Home, Stamps, Arkansas.
