Bruce R. Temple

TEMPLE, Bruce R., overnight in the early morning hours of October 1, 2025, after a long battle with various health concerns, Bruce Temple passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord. Bruce was a strong, Christian family man who represented what it truly meant to be a caring husband, father, and grandfather. Bruce grew up in Boston Heights, Ohio, and earned his Engineering degree from LaTourneau University in 1977. Bruce married in 1979, and adopted a son in 1987, all while living in Northeast Ohio. Bruce led a life of quiet perseverance, Christian faith, and love for others. Bruce loved woodworking, working on small electronics, and reading, especially from his Bible. After moving to Angola, NY in 2007 for a new career opportunity, a few months later he found his new church home in North Collins and became one of the elders, occasionally teaching Sunday School classes. In the last few years, he loved visits with his granddaughter Alexis, who would travel with Bruce's son to occasionally meet for lunch in Erie, PA, and more recently would stay for weekends as often as possible, reading books and attending church together while in town. Even until his last few days, Bruce's spirit of caring for others was still shining bright, as he would give insightful perspective to others about making sure they were taking care of themselves, even as he lay in poor health.  Bruce was the beloved husband of Laura (Montgomery) Temple.  Loving father of Douglas (Kayla Brewer) Temple and cherished grandfather of Alexis Temple.  He was the brother of Carol (Kevin) Colomb and the late Roger Temple and Brother-In-Law of Drema Temple.  He was uncle of Allan and Jonathan Temple and Rebekah Engelhardt.  Friends may call Saturday October 11, 2025 from 10-11 AM at the First Congregational Church, 10385 Main St. North Collins, NY where funeral services will be held at 11 AM.  Arrangements by Wentland Funeral Home North Collins, NY.
