Brynolf “Matt” Kaurala, age 89, of Hudsonville, peacefully crossed over to heaven with his family singing hymns by his side on Sunday, November 19, 2017. Matt always loved his Lord God, sharing his passion to many. He was a wounded Korean War veteran, awarded the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean; his siblings, Wayno, Marie, Emil and Arnold. He is survived by his children, Bonnie (Greg) Prescott, Beverly (William) Renkema, Rebecca (Spence) Tower, Linda (Bruce) Zimmerman; 20 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren. Funeral services for Matt will be held on Saturday, November 25, at 11:00 A.M. at VanderLaan Funeral Home, 4917 32nd Ave. Hudsonville, MI 49426. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at VanderLaan Funeral Home on Saturday, November 25, from 9 to 11 A.M. Memorial contributions may be made to Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
