Carl's Obituary

Carl Lee Brooks Sr. born March 11, 1951 went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2020 at the age of 69.  He will be reunited with his beloved wife of 38 years, Alicia Castillo Brooks; his son, David Brooks; his parents, James Charles Brooks Sr. and Verna Mae Wash; his brother, James Brooks Jr.; and sisters, Dorothy Louise Williams and Anabel Campbell.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughters, Brooks Anthony, Pamela Brooks-McGarity and husband Michael, and Brandi Brooks Chase and husband Darren; son, Carl Lee Brooks Jr.; brothers, Oscar and wife Barbara, Walter Charles and wife Inez, Benny Sr., and Kenneth Sr. and wife Judy; sister-in-law, Lillie Marie; grandchildren, Carl III. and wife Alexa, DeWayne and wife Jackie, Trevor Ambrose, and Julia Chase; great-grandchildren, Carl IV. and Kross; numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins; in-laws and friends.

Carl confessed Christ at an early age at Zion Fair Baptist Church in La Vernia, Texas and was later confirmed in the Catholic faith in 1993 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, Texas.

He was a career truck driver who enjoyed life, fixing automobiles, and good home cooked food, especially deer sausage and cheese enchiladas.  He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed watching football of any level in person or televised. 

He leaves a legacy of commitment to God, love for family, and a strong work ethic.  He will be truly missed. 

 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 beginning at 4:00 P.M. (rotation of visitors allowed with  50 people maximum in Chapel at a time).  Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, December 18, 2020 procession will depart Hillcrest at 10:00 A.M.  for an 11:00 A.M. Mass of the Resurrection at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Selma, TX.  Interment to follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery.
