Not sure what to say?

Carol, I am sorry to see this and sorry for this tremendous loss for you and your family. What a perfect description and tribute the obituary was. Carl quietly and gently impacted so many lives and I was blessed to know and work with both of you. Prayers for you and your family. Delores and Norm Constable

Sonny was my God Father and I cared for him deeply , He was Sweet , Caring and he will be missed by many .

Carl was such a wonderful person! He joined my healthcare consulting firm, Higman Healthcare in 1990 and continued to work with our team at Soyring Consulting until his retirement. Everyone loved Carl, he was fun and always had excellent results working with dozens of hospitals and healthcare systems across the country. He will be missed! My God be with Carol and the family as they say goodbye for now. Denice

To Carl’s family, he was a special, precious person who lovingly spoke of you when we talked. He was my first cousin. Most of our time together was spent during childhood days at our Dixon, MO grandparents or I was visiting him in St Louis. At grandparents we would giggle when grandma dozed off in the chair or grandpa gave us candy or watched him feed the chickens. In St Louis when Carl (always “Sonny” to me) lived on Juanita St we would play with Lassie their family collie, or we would...

Sorry to hear of your loss, Carol. Sending prayers.

Carl's Obituary

Roeder, Carl F., baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Sunday, January 25, 2026.

Beloved husband of Carol A. Roeder (nee Ditto). Loving father of Susan (Shane) Kammerer and Steve Roeder. Grandfather of Sam Kammerer. Brother of the late Carol Mathers and the late Evelyn Bragg. Brother-in-law of Janet (Richard) Lacavich and Linda (James) Duke. Uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Carl was a very gentle soul who rarely got excited. I’m sure he would tie his shoes and comb his hair before leaving our house if it were on fire. He enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam War and served as a flight medic and also as company clerk during down time. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Air Medal with V device. He never spoke too much about his time in the Army but was very proud of his service to our country. After leaving the Army, he worked 20 years at St. Joseph Hospital in Kirkwood, MO as an orderly, unit manager, and then materials manager of the operating room. He joined Higman Healthcare in 1990 after receiving his bachelor’s degree in business management from Webster University and continued to work in material management as a senior consultant until his retirement in 2017. He was known for his dry sense of humor, the ability to tell a great story, and his passion for practical jokes. He was loved by many and will be missed.

Services: Visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Manchester, Monday, February 2, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Friday, April 17, 2026, 11:30 am.
