Carl Edward Vaughn, Sr.

Carl Edward Vaughn, Sr., 80, of Chester, VA passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017, at the Assisted Living Care in Chester, VA. Born September 21, 1936 in Kenvir; he worked as a maintenance mechanic for Testilease and retired from the U.S. Navy with 10 years and 12 years in the U.S. Air Force and believed in the Baptist faith. Carl was preceded by his wife, Euna "Judy" Cornett Vaughn; his parents, Andrew Vaughn and Nola Skidmore Vaughn. He is survived by two sons, Alvie Edwards, Jr. and wife, Teresa, and Carl Edward Vaughn, Jr. and wife, Carrie, all of Chesterfield, VA.; one sister, Frances Vaughn, Hollywood, FL; three grandchildren, Alvie Edward III and wife, Breena; Abigayle and Logan Vaughn; two great-grandchildren, Alvie Carter Edwards and Addisyn Christine Edwards. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2017, in the chapel of Loyall Funeral Home with funeral services starting at 2 p.m. with Thurman Simpson officiating. Burial will be in the Cornett Family Cemetery, Watts Creek with military rites by the Harlan Honor Guard who will also serve as pallbearers.
