Carmelo "Carmelito" Ramirez, Sr., 87, of Souderton, PA; formerly of North Wales, PA went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Grand View Hospital.He was the loving husband of the late Epifania Medero Fernandez. Carmelo was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico to the late Pablo Ramirez and the late Eladia Ramirez Delgado.He graduated from Salvador Brau School in Carolina, Puerto Rico. Carmelo worked as a butcher in Puerto Rico, as groundskeeper for Doris Duke Estates in Hillsborough Township, NJ, as a cook for Somerset Hospital in Somerville, NJ, as a laborer for the former Redfern Lace Works, Inc in Somerville, NJ and lastly was employed as a Quality Control Inspector for Taylor Forge Stainless, Inc. in Branchburg, NJ for more than 10 years.One his greatest loves in life was dominos and he even won a tournament in Puerto Rico. Carmelo loved his family and staying in touch with everyone. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Rummy, singing folk music and traditional crabbing with a net in New Jersey. Carmelo also enjoyed watching baseball and rooting for his favorite teams, the Yankees and the Mets. Carmelo had a great sense of humor and often enjoyed telling jokes. He was a very nurturing, people person who enjoyed talking to anyone in came in contact with.Carmelo is survived by four sons, Gabriel Ramirez & wife, Ruth of Jackson, NJ, Carmelo Ramirez, Jr. & wife, Nanette of North Wales, PA, Angel Luis Ramirez of Jim Thorpe, PA, Edwin Ramirez & companion, Patricia Weiss of Edison, NJ; a daughter, Judith Camacho & husband, Tello of Newburgh, NY; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Rosaura Valero of Puerto Rico and a brother, Juan Ramirez of Puerto Rico. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, LeeAnn Ramirez; six sisters and four brothers.There will be NO services.Arrangements by: Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 East Broad Street, Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964.
