Carmen's Obituary

WATEBURY Carmen Ancheta Nicolasora “Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother (Lola Menchie)” Waterbury — Carmen Ancheta Nicolasora, 74, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Carmen shared 50 wonderful years of marriage with her loving husband, Ramon Mariano Nicolasora. They were married June, 17 1967 at the Immaculate Conception Church, Quezon City, Philippines. Recently they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Waterbury. Carmen was born April 2, 1943 in Balaoan, La Union, Philippines, the daughter of the late Martin Ancheta and Josefina Viloria. She was a 1966 graduate of the Chinese General Hospital in Manila and was a registered nurse at the same hospital. In 1973 Carmen and Ramon emigrated with their family from the Philippines to the United States, residing in Waterbury. She worked at the Grove Manor Nursing Home for 38 years until her retirement. She enjoyed playing the piano, traveling, cooking, ballroom dancing, playing mahjong and card games with her friends. Carmen was happiest when with her family, friends, and six loving grandchildren. Besides her loving husband Ramon, she leaves a sister, Aurora De Perio of Daly City, California; daughter Mildred Blazas and her husband George of Naugatuck; grandchildren Brendan, Olivia, and Alexa; son Marcel Nicolasora and his wife Tammy of Waterbury; grandchildren Lorenzo, Samantha and Sophia; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Anita Nicolasora, a sister, Maria Estrella Ancheta, and a brother, Rodolfo Ancheta. Arrangements: Funeral will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30. Burial of cremains will follow at Lake Elise Cemetery in Middlebury. Calling hours with the cremains present will be held Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Carmen’s memory to either: VITAS Innovative Hospice Care 199 Park Road Ext.
