Carol E. Bryant

Carol E. Bryant, 77, Watertown, wife of Alan Bryant, passed away in Watertown on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025, after being stricken ill at her home.

The funeral will be 1 pm Wednesday, November 26th at the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.  Calling hours are Tuesday, November 25th from 6pm – 8pm at the funeral home.

Carol is survived by her husband, Alan; a daughter Betty-Jean Maclachlan, a son Nathan Bryant, Watertown, Watertown; grandchildren Connor Maclachlan, California, Caeleigh Maclachlan, Carah Wren, Riley and Rowan Bryant, all of Watertown; great grandchildren Olivia and Noah Maclachlan, California, Ryker Gallaher and Alayah Wren, both of Watertown; her brothers and sisters, James “Stretch” Johnson, PA, Patricia Johnson, John Johnson and ,Michelle Robinson, all of Watertown;sisters-in-law Rosie (Greg) Lortie, Watertown, Diane Lynch, Alex Bay, Mary Krause, Clarence, NY, Gordon Bryant, Manlius;many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews.

She predeceased by her father, James B. Johnson and her mother Betty Beach Johnson Granger, her brother Kenneth Johnson, her sister Sheryl Drinning and Jacqueline Petrie, her nephew Joshua Johnson, her sisters-in-law, Beverly Atwood and Susan Babel.

She was born in Watertown, July 27th, 1948, as a daughter to James B. and Betty Beach Johnson.  She was educated in Watertown schools.  For many years Carol was a care provider for many of her family members when they were in need of help.  She was a bartender in the Watertown area and a switchboard operator at Jefferson Community College, retiring due to disability.  She and Al enjoyed camping at Southwick’s Beach for many summers.  Carol was fondly known as “Meme” by her grandchildren.
