Not sure what to say?

Would like to send love to Cheryl and family! Can hardly believe it’s been a year already! I know you miss your mom as much as you did the day she went to heaven

As soon as I saw her picture, I shed a tear.a 62 year old man saw that photograph of the woman that taught him to read and write, the woman that gave him his first A.The woman that cherished the pictures he would draw for her so much, she would hang them on the bulletin board for all to see.The woman that proudly stood with her students for a class picture in front of Stillman School. The woman that has this 62 year old man rummaging through boxes in the attic searching for that class picture...

We are saddened and sorry to hear about the news of your dear Mother passing away. Condolences and prayers to your family. May God comfort and give you strength and peace. Love and hugs! Karen & John Casey

Cheryl, So sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I remember her as a very sweet and kind person from our days when we shared an apartment in Georgia. My deepest condolences.

Maria, Karen and Cheryl- I am so sorry for your loss. I feel grateful to have known her and admire how she lived with such caring for her family and always treated others with such grace and class. She will always be an inspiration to me of how I should conduct myself through life.

Karen, Cheryl and Maria; I saw your mom's obituary in the paper this morning . She was such a beautiful lady. We enjoyed seeing her at the beach. She gave me a swan with ivy for the cottage. I did leave it when we left. You were all so fortunate to have her for your mother! May she rest in peace! You are in our thoughts and prayers. May God bless you! Joanne and Dominick Fammartino

Carol was a wonderful guide and teacher here at Bonnet House Musuem & Gardens. She worked with our Education Programs teaching students to use their imaginations and complete wonderful works of art. She always had a bright smile and students young and old loved working with her. She has been missed the past few years. I am most grateful to have worked with her.

Maria, we am so very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts are with you and your family. Our most sincere, deepest condolences... John and Isabela Danielsen

Carol's Obituary

Carol (Bergmann) Carnemolla, 91, of Wethersfield, CT passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.  Carol was born to Louis and Persis Bergmann on March 22, 1931 and grew up in South Hadley Massachusetts. After graduating from Westfield State Teachers College and earning her degree in early childhood education she moved to Connecticut to begin her teaching career. Shortly after starting her career, she met and married the love of her life Mario Carnemolla. They spent 30 years together raising their family until his passing  in 1986.

Carol taught young children in East Hartford and Wethersfield where she was known for her warmth and creativity in the classroom.  Her favorite grade to teach was first grade where she specialized in reading.  In addition to teaching, Carol had a second career running her late husband’s business, C & D Sand and Gravel of Rocky Hill for seven years.  Her joy for life, energy, and indomitable spirit allowed her to take on any challenge.  She served as a mentor and role model for her children, grandchildren, and many others.

Carol was active in the Wethersfield Art League and the Bud and Blossom Garden Club.  She loved to dance, travel, watercolor paint, nurture her garden and arrange flowers. She cooked wonderful meals, decorated the house and always made holidays special. She loved the ocean and enjoyed many weekends in Old Lyme on the beach with family. Carol was a “snowbird” and enjoyed winters in Fort Lauderdale Florida where she spent time with family and made many friends as a tour guide and artist in residence at The Bonnet House Museum and Gardens.

Carol leaves her three daughters, Karen Klune and husband Brian of Colchester, Cheryl Lee of Portland, Maria Shipman of Farmington and John Bobbitt.  She also leaves her cherished grandchildren Daniel Klune of Deep River, Eren Lee of Salt Lake City UT, Nicholas and Faith Lee of Portland, as well as many devoted nieces/nephews and sisters-in -law, Judy, Sandy, and Mary.

In the last few years of Carol’s life she endured health challenges which she faced with her usual determination. Special thanks to her devoted caregivers Candy Francis, Paula Dunn Tranchina, and Denise Migliorati for sharing laughter, love, and adventures..

A graveside service and celebration of life to honor Carol will be scheduled at a future date. Her family asks In lieu of flowers, donations be made to Bonnet House Museum and Gardens by visiting www.bonnethouse.org or mailing to Bonnet House Museum and Gardens, 900 North Birch Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL  33304 .
