John Bouchard, 90, of Wilbraham, MA. died peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday. John was born on August 18, 1925 to the late Darius and Frances (Connor) Bouchard in Hazardville, CT. He was a graduate of Enfield High School, after graduating John enlisted in the Navy in 1943. He served his country with pride and obtained the rank of Radioman 3rd Class. He served in Pearl Harbor, the Palau Islands and Shanghai, China, where he received the American Theater Medal, Victory Medal and the Asiatic-Pacific Medal. After his service to his country, he attended college at the University of Hartford and earned his Associates in Accounting. John went on to work at Pratt & Whitney as an accountant where he retired in 1983. John was predeceased by his first wife Madeline in 1990. John remarried and spent his later years with his wife Joan (Mentor) Bouchard. They lived in Wilbraham and were communicants of St. Cecilia's Church. John enjoyed going on long drives and traveling with his wife Joan, and was also a member of the Knight Of Columbus Council #26 in Windsor Locks, CT. John leaves his Loving wife Joan of Wilbraham, his sons; John Bouchard JR. and his wife Paulette of Wakefield; James Bouchard of Los Angeles, CA; Kevin Maltaise and his wife Katie of North Carolina; John Maltaise and his wife Chris of Springfield, Andy Maltaise and his wife Shirley Joe, a Daughter Mary Ellen Bouchard of Arlington, VA., his sister Barbara Leard of Enfield, CT. John will be missed by his grandchildren Elizabeth, Marisa, Carey Ann, Amanda, Andy JR, Becka, Kim, Paul J., Will and Zach. He will also be missed by his 4 great grandchildren. Calling hours for John will be held on Today, August 12, 2016 4pm to 7pm at the Ratell Funeral Home, 200 Main Street, Indian Orchard, MA. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 13, 2016 at 10am at St. Cecelia's Church, 42 Main Street, Wilbraham, with burial to follow at Hazardville Cemetery in Hazardville, CT.
