Carol's Obituary

Carol Anne Kowal, 79, of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, passed away on April 17, 2025, after a courageous battle with Stage IV breast cancer.

Born on June 5, 1945, in Syracuse, New York, Carol was the daughter of Alfred and Virginia Bice. She graduated from Melvindale High School in 1963 and went on to build a fulfilling career, retiring as an executive assistant to the Superintendent of Monroe County Intermediate School District.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Virginia Bice of Mt. Rest, South Carolina.

Affectionately known as “Sweetie,” “Grandma,” or “Gigi,” Carol was deeply devoted to her family. She found joy in tending her flower beds, traveling with Joe, and visiting casinos in Canada and nearby areas to play the slots. She also loved playing cards and games with loved ones and was often the life of the party.

A service to celebrate Carol’s life will be held on April 22nd at 3:00pm, at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home.
