WESTFIELD-Carol A. Langone, 67, died Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Governors Center in Westfield, Massachusetts. Carol had lived most of her adult life in West Springfield where she was well known within the cosmetology community. Over the years, Carol had taken several trips to New York City to compete in hairdressing competitions. During one of the competitions she won the trophy for "HIGH STYLING", something she was very proud of. Ms. Langone had also worked for the late Dr. John H. Breck, Sr., of Springfield, Massachusetts, the founder of Breck Shampoo and the Breck Girls, and also at Frank and Tito's. After helping care for her ailing father, she became interested in the medical field, obtaining certification for medical assisting. Upon moving to Florida to be closer to her daughter and family, Carol worked in the private sector of the medical field. Ms. Langlone is predeceased by her parents, Victor and Rosalie (Hamilin) Cestari and her sister, Carmelita Desmarais. She leaves her son, Michael Langone, of Ludlow, Massachusetts, daughter, Toni Ann Mariano, and her husband, Edgar Mariano, of Union City, California, brother, Victor Cestari, and his wife, Beverly Cestari, of Agawam, Massachusetts, brother-in-law, Gerald Desmarais, of South Carolina, nephews: Richard Desmarais, and his wife, Patricia Desmarais, of Ludlow, Massachusetts, Robert Desmarais, and his wife, Beverly Desmarais, of Westfield, Massachusetts, and Ronald Desmarais, and his wife, Theresa Desmarais, of South Carolina; and her niece, Cindy Goldie, and her husband, John Goldie, also of South Carolina; five grandchildren: Nicholas, Laura, Michael and Tyler Langone and Darien Mariano, along with many other family members. All services are private. The family is being assisted by New England Funeral & Cremation Center, LLC 25 Mill Street, Springfield, Massachusetts 01108.
