Carolyn Jean Hightower... Age 70

My sympathies go out to all of Carolyn’s family at this sad time.
Carolyn and I became friends as small children. Her grandparents Hazel and Virgil were our neighbors. I remember several summer picnics at her grandparents house. Her grandma sewed clothes for our dolls.
Then Carolyn and her brother Paul joined the Helmic Gingersnaps 4-H Club which I was a member of. We had lots of good times during our teenage years. And then we were both classmates at Southeast.

Carolyn was a classmate of mine, and I was so excited to visit with her at our class reunion! She hadn't changed a bit! Carolyn always had a smile on her face, sweet disposition, and was a very genuine, down to earth person. I loved her laugh! You all should be very proud of your mother, sister, and friend! She will be greatly missed, but I am sure she will make her presence known! May the Peace that Passes All Understanding be with you all! You are in my prayers! In His Love, Debby...

I worked for Carolyn at her growing dreams greenhouse for a summer. I always looked forward to working with her. She was so cheerful, encouraging, and a great teacher. I also loved that she was an active listener and was interested in how I was doing. She was such a wonderful woman and I'm so glad I got to work for her and get to know her.

We are so saddened by this news and our prayers are with Carolyn’s family. For many years, Carolyn started our plants at the Kautt Flower Farm in Centerville. She and Fred became fast friends as fellow plant lovers. We will miss you,Carolyn, enjoy the heavenly gardens!
