Carolyn Maisner Obituary

Carolyn Ann Maisner, age 82, of Forestville, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 11th, 2026, surrounded by family. She was born in Iron Mountain, Michigan.

Carolyn was the beloved wife of the late Walter, whom she married on June 28, 1968, at St. Martha’s Church in Dearborn. Their marriage was one of devotion, partnership, and enduring love.

She was a devoted mother to her two children, Danielle and Damon, and a proud grandmother to her two grandchildren, Hannah and Hunter, who brought her immense joy. Carolyn cherished her family deeply, and her love for them was evident in all that she did.

In her quiet moments, Carolyn found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed reading mystery novels, working on crossword puzzles, and gardening, hobbies that reflected her thoughtful, patient, and nurturing nature.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband Walter, and her parents, Mary and Clarence. She is survived by her children Danielle (Michael) Salowitz and Damon Maisner and her grandchildren Hannah and Hunter. She is also survived by her sister Mary Ellen Lysogorski and brother John (Diane) Grimord as well as her nephew Steve Lysogorski.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her love of family, and the gentle presence she brought to the lives of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to a local animal shelter in her honor.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Maisner. The Maisners were always good to me as a kid.

Whenever I think of Mrs Maisner a smile comes to my face and am reminded that there wasn't a single mom in our neighborhood, mine included that baked like her. Rice crispy treats and chocolate chip cookies to die for. The metal tins were always full and the plastic Tupperware. Going up north, she was super mom always having food at the ready. Definitely a one of a kind.
