Carroll's Obituary

Carroll Britton, Sr., a devoted husband, father, and proud retired longshoreman member of ILA Local 3000, entered eternal rest at his home in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the age of 86. He was born on February 1, 1939, in Pinckneyville, Mississippi, to the late Robert and Cornelia Montgomery Britton. 

Carroll dedicated 31 years of service as a longshoreman and was respected for his hard work, strength, and unwavering commitment to his family and community. He will be remembered for his kindness, his enduring strength, and the love he shared with all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 68 years, Minnie Lee Britton; his daughters, Michelle B. Fairley and Andrea Jones (Troy); his son, Carroll Britton, Jr.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two special nieces, Mary Wilson and Betty Lou White. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.Carroll was preceded in death by his parents and thirteen siblings, who now welcome him home.

Relatives, friends, and members of James Chapel Baptist Church ., Little Zion Baptist Church ., King Solomon Baptist Church ., New Tree of Life Baptist .Church ., ILA Local 3000, and Concord Shore Services are invited to celebrate his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at James Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 4227 Thalia St., New Orleans, LA 70132.  Visitation begins at 9:00 AM, followed by funeral services at 10:00 AM.  Interment will be private.

Carroll’s legacy of love, dedication, and strength will live on forever in the hearts of those he touched.
