Carroll was an awesome friend and always greeted me with a smile and pure joy in his voice as I was growing up near his family home. Many hours we spent at the ole' JP Daniels Trading Post. Had not seen him in years but followed his journey of immense heartbreaking family losses throughout the decades. So very sad to hear of his passing and my sincere condolences to all of you in the family, and friends, as you grieve his loss. God will surely have a special place for this caring sharing soul...

HE WAS A FRIENDLY PERSON AND ALWAYS ATTEMPTED TO MAKE PEOPLE LAUGH. WAS LOVED ALSO AT STANLEYTOWN WHERE HE LIVED.HE WILL CERTAINLY WILL MISSED BY MANY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. WILL ME PRAYING FOR HIS FAMILY AND OUR DEEPEST SYMPATHY GOES OUT TO THEM.

Carroll's Obituary

Carroll Eugene Draper, 78, of Bassett, VA, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, peacefully at Stanleytown Health & Rehabilitation. He was born on April 26, 1945, to the late Lonnie Draper and Mary Draper. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, April Star Draper, and Sebrena Grace Draper; one sister, Bobbie Draper; and one brother, Larry Draper

He was a member of Oak Level Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. 

Carroll is survived by his wife for over 30 years, Shirley B. Draper; two grandchildren, Kylie Jo Kaylor Draper, and Harley Dean Draper Harrison; three sisters, Teresa Seay, Phyllis Draper Bryde, and Patsy Draper Kasen; two brothers, Stafford Draper and Ricky Draper and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends. 

He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, from 10:00 until 11:00AM at Bassett Funeral Service chapel. A graveside service will be at Henry Memorial Park immediately following the visitation.
