It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of our brother Casey R. Baird (58) of Salt Lake City, Utah on Sunday, March 8, 2026. Casey was born on August 14, 1967. He was the son of Margaret E. Baird and Merton E. Baird also of Salt Lake City, Utah. Casey survived by his best friend, love of his life, ride or die wife, Julie and her three children, daughter Heather and sons Chase and Nate as well as his siblings, two brothers, Raymond and Garry and six sisters Connie, JuLee, Maralin, Heather, Holly and Teri, and his dog Handsome. He is preceded in death by his beautiful, beloved daughter Tawnee (21) in 2014.
Casey was a talented guy with multiple accomplishments in his career. His love as a radio personality started at a young age as a kid with an imagination that carried him into the limelight to become a widely popular radio personality with a huge fan base, and he became known as the “Night Rocker”. Casey also had a technical side to him as he learned to be a machine tool service technician while in high school. He developed a highly sought after reputation in the CNC machine tool world where he repaired and programmed various manufacturing machines and became so good at it that he became self-employed and applied his craft in all kinds of production plants that make anything from aero space and aircraft parts to automotive and motorcycle accessories. If a machine can make it, Casey could work on it.
Casey had a huge heart, which was apparent in the way he treated and cared for others. After he and Julie met together, they started a crusade to bring to light the tragedy and unseen situations that come from the acts of domestic violence. Casey and Julie started with a dream of, "The Tawnee house" in memory of Casey's daughter whose life was taken in 2014 by her girlfriend, in which, abuse had been a big part of that relationship. The Tawnee house was to be a shelter for other women who were victims of domestic violence. Casey used his big personality and popularity in Utah as a DJ to showcase what he and Julie thought needed light shown on, the desperate need of more shelters for women. He did documentaries about his daughter Tawnee, that reached people everywhere in the world. He and Julie were involved in many rides and events against domestic violence. His heart was with his ladybug every day as he never got over what happened to her.
Casey loved people and people loved him. His crazy antics put a smile on everyone’s faces and he had a lot of friends and followers; he was everyone’s friend. So, rock on “Night Rocker” as your public has your back and you will always be remembered as a great guy!
A “Celebration of Life” for Casey will be held at Leatherheads Sports Bar and Grill at 12147 State Street in Draper, Utah on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 6:00 PM.
