Caterina (Iannuzzi) Federici left us to be with the angels April 19th, 2018. She had just celebrated her 94th birthday. Born in Potenza, Italy, she came with her young family to the Bronx in 1955. She was a very proud Mother, Grandmother, Nonna and Bisnonna. Caterina worked as a seamstress until she was 80 and the factory closed. She loved to sew and crochet making Baptism, First Communion and Wedding gowns and countless baby blankets, hats and scarfs; she also made vestments for the clergy at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel where she was a member since 1955. Caterina is preceded in death by her husband, Gerardo Federici, children, Nicholas A. Federici and Rosann M. (Fillipo) Cianci; parents - Vincenzo and Vincenza Iannuzzi; and sister - Rosa Pennimpede. Caterina is survived by her son, Vincenzo (Amy) Federici and sister, Angelina Coppola, along with 9 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and many, many cousins. She was well-known and loved in the 187th Street Neighborhood. The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the team at St. Patrick's Home for the Aged and Infirm, where she resided for the last 2-1/2 years. Particularly, the staff of the Fourth Floor who took such amazing care of her and became an extended part of our family. If you would like to make a donation in her memory, please send to: St. Patrick's Home In Memory of Caterina Federici 66 Van Cortland Park, South Bronx, NY 10463
