Catherine Dianne Haack, 67, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on February 28, 2026.
In accordance with Cathy’s wishes, no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local animal rescue in her honor.
Cathy was born in Merced, California, and later made her home in Wichita Falls, where she devoted her life to her family. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Above all else, she loved her family fiercely and completely. She showed her love in simple, everyday ways — through laughter, care, and always putting others before herself.
Cathy worked in home health care for several years, caring for the elderly with the same compassion and gentleness she showed her own family. Caring for others simply came naturally to her.
She was kind, generous, thoughtful, and wonderfully hilarious. A hippie at heart, she believed in love, kindness, and living simply. Her laugh was unforgettable, the kind that would make you laugh even if you had no idea what was so funny. She loved animals deeply and regularly supported local animal rescues. She especially loved music from the 60s and 70s, but her all-time favorite band was ZZ Top.
Cathy was a simple gal who didn’t need much — just her family, her music, a good laugh, and maybe a little extra love for any animal that crossed her path. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the joy she brought into every room. We will always carry her laughter with us and her love and care will remain stitched into the fabric of our family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Ovella Callaway; her stepfather, Robert Callaway; her father, David Moore; her first husband, James Dopita; her sister, Debra Gross; and her brother, Scott Callaway.
She is survived by her husband, James Haack of Wichita Falls; her daughter, Amber Dopita-Todd and husband Adren Todd of Wichita Falls; her son, Robert Haack and wife Monika Haack of Glencoe, New Mexico; her sister, Kari Bryant and husband Michael Bryant of Atlanta, Georgia; her granddaughter, Jordan Dopita-Miller of Albuquerque, New Mexico; her grandsons, Devin and Skylen Monroe of Wichita Falls; along with nieces, nephews, cousins, and her very best friend — her beloved dog, BB.
