Not sure what to say?

My deepest condolences go out to the Halicki Family. I have so many dear memories of our family visits, and how loving, sweet and a wonderful friend Ceil was to me and my family. She had the greatest laugh! and what a cook. I still remember her delicious cheesecake. She will always have a special place in my heart remembering her, Chester & boys and our fun family memories together.

I will always remember Mrs. Halicki for her warm smile and her gentle personality. She made a wonderful lamb cake too. I know she will be so happy to be reunited with Mr. Halicki and Ken.

Ceil and her sister were older than most of us other Penkala cousins so I saw her infrequently but I do remember hearing about "Rose's Ceil" and also recall our Aunt Gene's stories of Ceil visiting her in the nursing home and how she appreciated those visits. My condolences to the family. You are all in my prayers along with Ceil.

Renee Hinz (Irene's daughter)

I loved all the family parties at her house and the memories. cheesecake, kielbasa and playing with the boys. She is the last one to pass on of all our parents. up where they are all playing cards, singing in polish and laughing away. Watching down on all of us. Rest in peace Auntie.

Cecelia's Obituary

Cecelia Therese Halicki, 93; passed away peacefully on Oct. 16, 2021; loving wife of WWII Veteran the late Chester Halicki (who passed in 2010); loving mom of the late Ken (Madonna), Mitch, Bob (Laura) and Ray (Mary); dedicated mother of four; grandmother of eight; great-grandmother of five; aunt to some; and cousin or friend to others. She was a great cook, known for her world-famous bacon and eggs casserole, and cheese cake (along with her sister “Aunt Jean”). She loved working at Resurrection Hospital and her crisp white uniform. She was a great partner to Chester and a loving mother. She loved camping and the country including the cardinals, weeping willows, and white-tailed deer. She has beloved memories with her husband of camp fires and harmonica songs in Polish and English. She enjoyed playing dominoes and rummy with her grandchildren, and always had a “bone to pick with us” if a normal correction was too little. We knew we were in trouble then. She will be greatly missed. Visitation Tues, October 26, at Immaculate Conception Church, 7211 W. Talcott Ave., Chicago, IL from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will be private at St. Adalbert. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice.
