Miss Cecilia C. Jais, 99, of Peru, entered eternal life on January 12, 2014 at Heritage Healthcare Center in Peru.Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at St. Joseph?s Church in Peru with Rev. Harold Datzman, OSB officiating. Burial will follow in Peru City Cemetery. Visitation will be 10-11:00 AM Wednesday in the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Mueller Funeral Home in Peru.Miss Jais was born December 21, 1914 in Peru to Max and Mary (Stoetzel) Jais. Cecilia devoted her life to her parents and took care of them into their old age. She was also devoted to her church and serving others. For the past fifty years, she spent many hours sewing baptismal garments for the babies of St. Joseph?s Church, where she was a member and active in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was an Oblate of St. Bede Abbey. She had previously been employed at Westclox and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Survivors include her nephew, Robert W. (Joan) Jais of Oakbrook Terrace; her niece, Carmella Jais Flint of Downers Grove and dear and loyal friends, LeeAnn Hannigan and Jan Delvallee, both of Peru.She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Frederic Peter, Anna Marie, Carl William, Helen and Margaret Jais.Memorial donations may be directed to St. Joseph?s Church in Peru.
