Life Reflections

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous hand.                                                                                                                                                                           Isaiah 41:10

Chanda was born in Manning, South Carolina on November 18, 1981, to Gladys Scott and Anthony Parson. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Isaac and Pearlie Mae Scott, paternal grandfather, Roosevelt Parson, Jr., three uncles: Dennis Parson, Hazel “HL” Scott, and Sidney L. Parson, Sr., and one aunt, Joyce Ann Holmes.

God, in His infinite wisdom, saw fit to call our dearly beloved and unique angel, Chanda Latoya Scott home to eternal rest on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

At an early age, Chanda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Andrews, South Carolina. Chanda attended the public schools of Williamsburg County and graduated from C.E. Murray High School in Greeleyville, South Carolina in the year 2000.  She worked in the customer service industry and  later received her Medical Billing and Coding certification.

“Kenzy”, as she was affectionally known, enjoyed “loving on those who loved her.”  She was the Life of the party and showcased her talents through her business, Kenzy Koncoctions, LLC. With a giving heart and a loyal spirit, Chanda was also known for always answering the call which usually involved a request of her award-winning perlow!

Above all, Chanda’s greatest accomplishment was being a mother. She gave all that she had into ensuring that Iayna and Bryce were taken care of.  Chanda lived her life exactly how she wanted, without apologies, and lived each day as if it were her last.

Those left to cherish Chanda’s memories are her children, Iayna Scott and Bryce Scott, both of the home; a mother, Gladys Scott of Kingstree, SC; a father, Anthony Parson of Lane, SC; a grandmother, Pearl E. Parson of Lane, SC; three brothers, Brandon (Kristy) Scott of Myrtle Beach, SC, Quentin (Shariece) Scott of Columbia, SC, and Anthony Parson of Lane, SC; one sister, Tosha R. Parson of Ladson, SC, and one cousin reared as a sister, Laura L. Gary of Lane, SC; two uncles, Marvin (Anita) Scott of Miami, FL, and Pastor Beejay (Dionne) Scott of Margate, FL; three aunts: Gail Scott of Miami, FL, Gwyn (Michael) Hemingway of Myrtle Beach, SC and Cynthia M.  Parson of Columbia, SC; two nieces, three nephews and “associates and loved ones who she loved”.
