Chandler Merle Long

    Mr. Chandler Merle Long age 58 of Quitman, MS. Passed away peacefully on Saturday August 23, 2025 in the Regency Hospital in Meridian, MS. Following a brief illness. Mr. Long was born on December 8,1966 in Toccoa, GA. the son of Merle Long and the late Linda Ann Barren Long. Chandler was a loving son, brother and nephew. He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Barren Coward and also his paternal grandparents, Herman and Lois Nell Long and his maternal grandparents, Dennis and Mary Barren and his aunt, Louise Garner. Chandler was of the Baptist faith.

   Surviving Chandler are his father, Merle Long of Dial, GA., brothers, Brent Ferra of Putney, VT., Derek and Tiffany Long of Cleveland, GA., sister, Tara and Will Loudermilk of Cleveland, GA., his aunts and uncles, Freddy and Robbie Long, Gerald and Annette Long, Regina and Ray Golden, Cathy and Lyle Scruggs all of Dial, GA., several cousins, many other relatives and friends also survive.

   Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Bryan Ethington officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, donations may be made to help defray expenses in Chandler’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-9:00 pm.
