Charlie Brown I hate that we didn't get to see each other cousin but I am glad we were able to talk the last couple years. Growing up we were more like brother and sister than cousins. I am going to miss you so much and this hurts more than I can express . I love you cousin. To the family, he was a great man, awesome father, great friend and I pray that God carries you through this difficult time. Blessings to you all.

I always enjoyed Charlie when he came into the store when he got gas. He was a wonderful person and I will always remember his kind words. He was a blessing to all who knew him.

Charles Anthony Brown, Sr. was born December 19, 1965, to Will Brown and Mary Clark in Gary, Indiana.Charles graduated from Wirt High School class of 1984.  In 1991, he met his loving wife, Carolyn, and together they moved to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. They were married in 2017. 

Charles became a member of Yah’s House Church, in 2025 and although he always believed in God, his faith became an important part of his life and personal journey.

Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and bonus father who deeply valued his family. Charles was the proud grandfather of 13 grandchildren who brought great joy to his life. He was excited that Seantay and his wife were expecting their first child.

He worked as a full-time mechanic and was known as a true Jack of all Trades. If something needed fixing, Charles was the one people called. He was hardworking, dependable, and always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

In his free time, Charles enjoyed playing chess and dominoes, racing remote-controlled cars, grilling, listening to music (especially the blues) and spending time at family reunions and gatherings. He also spent time with "Q" (his bonus grandson and game playing partner), He was known for being protective of those he loved, a natural peacemaker.

Charles shared a lifelong friendship with his best friend, Jessie Bloodsaw. When he moved to Fond Du Lac he met Charles Moore and became good friends with him. He had a close and meaningful relationship with his nephew, Hughie “To-To” Roby. His nieces: Sonnita, Yolanda and Mary often joked that each of them was his favorite, which speaks volumes about the love and care he showed to all of his family. 

Charles transitioned from this life to his eternal rest on Monday, March 2, 2026.  He was preceded in death by his father Will Brown and brother Edward Earl Clark and 15 half-brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his by his loving wife, Carolyn Brown; his children, Denise “Nikki” Brown, Charles Brown, Jr. and Timothy Brown all of Fond Du Lac, WI, Seantay (Bethany) Carpenter, of Lewisville, TX; his Grandchildren Ja’Loni, Diondre, Jia’Marie, Mahlea, Treyvon, Charles Jr. and Kai. His mother, Mary Clark of Gary Indiana, his siblings, Gloretta Clark, Linda Clark, Sandra Clark, and Cedric (Renee') Brown all of Gary, IN; 13 half-brothers and sisters; bonus children: Darrell, Nicholas, Marrissa and Mia plus 6 bonus grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
